LENS CATEGORIES

The GOG sunglasses are produced in compliance with european EN ISO 12312-1:2013, american ANSI Z80.30: 2018 and australian AS 1067.1: 2016 standards. All GOG sunglasses lenses ensure 100% protection against UVA and UVB harmful radiation. Shaded lenses or mirror shaded coverings (darker up, brighter down) are centralised i.e. the left and right lens are of the same colour at the same height.

According to EN ISO 12312-1:2013 norm, lenses are classified in 5 categories of filters depending on the degree of light transmission:

 „0” category    lets 80-100% of the light through and is designed to be used on cloudy days.

 „1” category    lets 43-80% of the light through and is designed to be used on days with little sunshine.

 „2” category    lets 18-43% of the light through and is designed to be used on quite sunny days.

 „3” category    lets 8-18% of the light through and is designed to be used on very sunny days.

 „4” category    lets 3-8% of the light through and is designed to be used where there is a lot of sunshine, mainly  on glaciers and in the mountains. Glasses with “4” category are not recommended while driving a car.
